This reminds me of two cases in the Art World. Just a warning I am not the best at remembering names. There was an artist who created paintings with these big eyes and her husband got all the credit for the paintings until she sued and got Credit. (I don't remember alot of this one fyi) Another is a famous scuplter who got this person to make the scuplture for them and that famous scuplter got all the credit until like years later, where the pepper scuplter was credited.

There's this great manga called Billy Bat about an american cartoonist who goes to Japan because he thinks he subconsciously lifted the design for his character after seeing it somewhere during the war, and he wants to find the man who originally drew it so he can credit him and get permission, and while hes gone a business man manipulates his assistant into stealing his character and they turn it into a massively popular character overnight

It's called being a producer.

Disney is the most overrated and underrated man, at the same time, of all time. And as a genius or ideologist of a whole new empire, he has the chance to be unjustifiably hated (as well as loved). In the essential book "The art of Walt Disney" by Christopher Finch, the entire history and process of Disney is told, and the capital importance of Disney as a producer is explained, how he was involved in his projects, how he acted as an active part, the main ideas to create his projects began with him, feature films, Disney sound, etc. He was a genius as a businessman, and without Disney it would have been nothing. He delegated the art to good animators, because he was more of an executive than a good artist, and Disney always gave credit to its artistic directors and animators, many of them world-renowned in the world of animation (the 9 old men for example). Even in many interviews he never gave credit to himself as an artist but rather as a producer of his project. The figure of Disney cannot be understood in such a simplistic way as today, which works in a more individualistic way (creator-animator) and on a smaller scale. I recommend that anyone who has a bad criticism against Disney read about him or the production company, and like me, who also thought that Disney was just a man making money, you will be surprised at how important he was and his exciting life.

So basically, teamwork is effort and you should pay credit where credit is due. *_NOTED!_*

I came here because I recently came up with a character for a work of fiction I might get to at some point in the future: a young autistic girl living in Salisbury, South Australia, whose special interests include music, science and geography, and she's just a normal preteen with geeky tendencies. Oh, and she happens to be black. Why is she black? Is it because I want to pander to the w0k€ left? Is it because I need an arbitrary race quota for my works so I don't look racist? Or could it be because I want to show how unique and quirky my character is for being black and autistic (and female, for those m0f0s who consider women a "minority" group)? The answer is... none of the above. I made her black because that's literally just how I pictured the character - I was inspired to draw a young black girl after I watched _American Dad_ the other night and noticed just how appealing Katie's design was, and I wanted to do my own spin on the character. Yeah, a character who exists for one episode solely so Francine can be mistaken for racist, and something about her design really piqued my interest. So anyway, I came here because I wanted pointers for how I, some dumb white guy from bum frick Adelaide, can write a convincing black character without coming across as either writing a racist caricature of a black person or just a dark-skinned white girl. And you raised some excellent points about how blacks hardly get any representation in cartoons, and.... well, like I said, whatever work I'm doing with my character will be set here in Australia, and African Australians pretty much have *no* cartoon representation as far as I'm aware, in part because our more popular shows centre around koalas and Blue Heelers, but mainly because... well, a lot of us forget that black people even live here. But I *think* I'm doing alright at the moment, just writing a young nerd girl who happens to be black, and writing her as a normal kid instead of the stereotypical "smart at everything" character you brought up in the vid, but I'm willing to accept criticism from actual black people (especially those here in Australia) where I can. At the moment, I'm trying to work out the bugs so she's not a race-bend of my young autistic white girl Adele, who I'm sure many who follow my main channel, ARC the Cartoon Master, and/or my Twitter are familiar with. So yeah, those are my thoughts on the matter. If anyone here has any questions feel free to ask! :)
